I have 2 Gmail Accounts that I've been using Thunderbird to work with. Suddenly now, one of the accounts stopped working (repeated Password Requests).
For the past year I have without problems used Thunderbird to work with both of my Gmail accounts without problems. I had been on an extended travel an for the past 2 weeks had not started up Thunderbird. When I did so for the first time this morning, I could not work either account with it.
Resetting, re-entering all settings fixed the problem for ONE of my accounts (the main one!) but the other still refuses to work. Yes, I have IMAP and less secure appliance permissions enabled within the Gmail settings. I've changed my passwords and updated them on all ends, and still, my main account works, but the second one refuses to accept the passwords even though I know they are correct.
I always get the "Login to server imap.gmail.com failed." Message and am prompted to enter my password.
No luck.
Could anyone mayhap help me?
Thank you much,
Zea

After digging around some more, I finally managed to find the google site:
https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/6009563
There is a link on the bottom saying "Allow Access". Click that one, "continue" and directly there after prompt Thunderbird to sync. That solved the problem.
Thunderbird now syncs up both my accounts again.
Thanks for all the other help and everyone looking into it, I hope this helps the other 3 that clicked that they have the same problem.
PS: In your web browser, you have to be logged into the Google Account with the troubles!

Sadly, that did not solve the problem. The settings I have are exactly the same on both accounts. On the Gmail site, as well as on Google. The alert that I get is
"Please log in via your web browser: http://support.google.com/mail/accounts/bin/answer.py?answer=78754 "
Visiting that site, I made sure that all the settings are the same as with my main account (which works through Thunderbird)... It still doesn't work. My username is correct - that was the first thing I checked.
My secondary account still refuses to work with Thunderbird. They are both google accounts. I'm at my wits end here. I think it must be a Google block more than a Thunderbird block, but what I don't understand is, why it works with one account, but not with the other?
