Am using Win XP SP3. Uploaded and installed latest Flash player yesterday. YouTube videos only play at 360k max resolution (not up to 4K) and I can't play any Vimeo videos. Get the "This video can’t be played with your current setup." error msg. All YouTube and Vimeo videos play fine in I.E. 8.

I have cleared the Firefox buffer/cache and turned off hardware acceleration. Still no joy. Am running Firefox v. 33.1. Not sure if updated Flash messed up Firefox video playing or not.

Any suggestions?

Hello,

It doesn't look like Flash is installed for Firefox. Internet Explorer uses ActiveX, which is not something Firefox uses. To install Firefox's plugin, go to this link in Firefox:

  • https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
    • Note that the link usually has an "Optional offer" for the McAfee toolbar in the middle pane - you can uncheck that box as it is not needed to use Flash.
