RETR command did not succeed

  1. 1: The RETR command did not succeed. Error retrieving a message. Mail server mail.domain name.org responded: ved: (qmail 3855 invoked by uid 0); 27 Oct 2014 14:25:42 -0000

When: This issue began as of last Wednesday (October 21, 2014) and is coming from a Network Solutions hosted email server.

What I've done: I've deleted ALL emails via webmail (Inbox, Trash, Spam, Draft, etc.) and still receive the error message when I attempt to POP account.

This had happened on another account on another server, using a different service and email. What I did was change the Security POP settings and the problem went away. But this same solution is not working for the problem account.

  1. 2: Since problem number one, several of my emails (in the body content) on another account (a third) do not match the subject of the emails. Very odd and I need this fixed because I'm obviously not able to read important emails coming through. This third account has no problem POPping.

Forum posts read and have not had luck after practicing same methods of solutions: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1008637 https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1008220

I run a business with a variety of email accounts, each serving its own purpose. I'd like to know a solution to this.

Maybe you have a corrupted inbox for that problem account. You could try doing this: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Recover_messages_from_a_corrupt_folder

Reading the instructions, there is no 'registry.dat' nor a 'profiles.ini' file in my profiles folder:

3. Find the "Mozilla" (for Mozilla Suite/SeaMonkey 1.x), "SeaMonkey" (for SeaMonkey 2), "Firefox", or "Thunderbird" folder in the profile folder path that contains the registry.dat file or profiles.ini file and the "Profiles" folder (Windows and Mac) or <profile name> folder (Linux). See Profile folder - Firefox , Profile folder - Thunderbird and Profile folder - SeaMonkey for the location.

Not sure what to do now.

There should be a profiles.ini file in the parent directory of the profile.
