Happens about 75% of the time on imgur, there are a few other websites that have this issue but it happens a lot less frequently. The page loads properly after reloading from 1 to 4 times. This was happening before I reinstalled Windows and still occurs after.

Possible causes are that the server is busy or that there are otherwise problems with the internet connection like your ISP or security software installed on your computer.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
