how to fix , adjust , have access to scrolling for windows 7 ?

Hi there I am just a 75 yr. old brick brain & I was fooling around with my computer & lost most of my scrolling function . I've only been into the computer & digital scene for only 3 yrs ,hence my lack of knowledge about these issues . I am trying but at my age memory problems are here . I hope that you all can take me step by step in solving my problem . I have windows 7 & use Yahoo for my home page & email & I also have firefox Thanking you in advance .

Do you have a mouse that you can plugin to see if that still makes scrolling possible?

You can try to set the ui.elantech_gesture_hacks.enabled pref to 0 on the about:config page.

  • ui.elantech_gesture_hacks.enabled = 0

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

Did you make those changes in Firefox or elsewhere on the computer like in the Windows Control Panel?

Can you clarify what you mean with lost most of my scrolling function?

What stopped working and what is still working?

Could you possibly attach a screenshot?

  • Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot
  • Make sure that you do not exceed the maximum size of 1 MB

I still can't resolve my scrolling problems . I can only scroll if I hold my action bar down & simultaneously slide my finger up or down on the pad between the arrows I don't know how I caused this to happen as I am constantly trying to learn . This happened as I was attempting to get firefox & yahoo on my tool bar . I achieved this but somehow lost most of my scrolling ability . I need help in the form of step by step assistance . Thank you .
