Why do I constantly get a message that Thunderbird can't connect to my mail server when I go to open my mail program?
When I activate the e-mail connection I get a message that Thunderbird can not connect to my mail server. I shut the program down then reenter it and it will work. Why does this message keep occurring and what can I do to eliminate it?

When I activate the e-mail connection
What exactly does this mean?
When I click on the Thunderbird symbol in the tray to connect to my incoming mail I get a box in the lower right hand corner which says that Thunderbird could not connect to my server. If I then disconnect from Thunderbird and then recliick on the symbol the new mail is then available in the inbox. I do not understand why the mail does not appear when I first enter the program. JK
