Hello Guys

My firefox restarts my PC all the time. It just hangs everything on the computer and restarts without stopping. What to do?

I formatted my machine and I can not use firefox. It restarts my computer all the time, lock screens, freezes and shuts down the entire system. How do I remove it and stop the problems I can work normally. Someone can tell me what to do? why is this happening?

Regards Suzana

Windows restarting by itself could indicate a device driver incompatibility, usually related to your graphics card.

Instead of starting Firefox normally, hold down the Shift key to get the Safe Mode/Reset dialog, and Start in Safe Mode. Then switch your hardware acceleration setting here:

"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced

On the "General" mini-tab, uncheck the box for "Use hardware acceleration when available"

Safe Mode automatically disables hardware acceleration, but this change should go into effect when you exit Firefox and start up again normally.

Any improvement?

I have never noticed FF doing this on my machine, so something else must be causing it.

It sounds like a virus to me.

What anti-virus programs do you run? How often, and when was the last time?

How often do you update programs on your computer?

Hello.

I use Eset ant virus.

I did a full scan and all is right. My coach made analysis of the entire system and found nothing wrong. The problem is that without the mozzila everything works normally when I install mozzila it starts to crash when I'm using and restart the machine all the time.

Could be memory or incompatibility with another browser? I have 4GB memory My HD is 500 - My PC is a Pentium R Dual Core E5700 3.00GHz

I need Mozilla to work in the administration of my virtual store, other browsers do not meet me 100%

Thank you for listening

Eset looks good, so maybe it's not a virus, but I would try also running:

ADWCleaner . . . https://toolslib.net/downloads/viewdownload/1-adwcleaner/ and Malwarebytes Free . . . http://www.malwarebytes.org/downloads/

I was getting the blue screen a while back, when I had an old sound card installed. I think the driver was incompatible.

I moved around and reseated the memory. I did a memory check. There was no problem there. I used the tip of a ballpoint pen to reset the CMOS: I pressed in and held the yellow button in the corner for 10 seconds, this checked the RAM, if there were an error, it wouldn't go up to 2048

I found that there was an update for the BIOS, so I did that. Look on the manufacturer's web page. It may not have been the fix, but that's something to look at.

Two other culprits that I know from experience - make sure you have the latest driver for your system, for the video card - not a bad idea to look at the sound card also.

I'm in Win 8.1

First, here's what I would do (have done) - If you're in Windows, this is probably the same path:

Control Panel / System / Advanced system settings / Advanced tab / Startup and Recovery - Settings / System failure / [un-check] Automatically restart

. . . Reason: Because then the next time it restarts, it will give you a blue screen, and hold, right there. . . . This gives you the opportunity to see an error code at the bottom of the screen, that will enable you to figure out what's going on. . . . If it just restarts, I think this flashes on the screen, then just continues to restart. . . . Write down the code, get back online, and start googling to figure out how to fix. . . . From the blue screen, hold down the power button for a couple of seconds, that will power it off. Leave it off for 10 seconds, then power it back on.

Second - here's where to look for more clues . . . see what was going just before the crash, and start googling what looks suspicious:

Programs / Administrative Tools / Event Viewer / Windows Logs - and look under: . . . Application . . . and . . . System

Other things to try:

In Win 8.1, from a Command Prompt / Run as Administrator (cleans up errors with the Apps) . . . C:\>dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

After that, from a Command Prompt / Run as Administrator (checks the Windows system files) . . . C:\>sfc /scannow

I thought of something else I do: Do updates, and system scans, with only Microsoft software running. This prevents any conflicts:

In Windows / Start / Run / msconfig / Ok Services tab / [check] Hide all Microsoft services / Disable all / Ok / Exit without restart

In CCleaner / Tools / Startup / Windows tab (default) / Ctr-A / right-click on the highlighted / Disable / Close CCleaner by clicking on the X in the top right

Restart computer Do updates, and system scans

When done, reverse the above:

In Windows / Start / Run / msconfig / Ok Services tab / Enable all (toggle it - Enable-Disable-Enable) / Ok / Exit without restart

In CCleaner / Tools / Startup / Windows tab (default) / Ctr-A / right-click on the highlighted / Enable / Close CCleaner by clicking on the X in the top right

Restart computer Now you're back

Dear friends.

I greatly appreciate everyone's help. I managed to solve the problem.

Jscher2000 you were right, it was an incompatibility problem. I uncheck the hardware acceleration and the problem was solved. Many thanks to you and everyone who helped me.
