Is there any add-on or extension for Firefox (32) that makes it possible to pause the running java scripts in non focused tabs and resumes it when the window is focused again?

Need to have multiple tabs open (>250), after all of them are loaded FF is getting very-very slow (CPU utilization is 10-15%), after FF is restarted it is working fast again, until all tabs are fully loaded...

Type about:preferences in the address bar and press enter. Select General. Under Tabs, turn on Don’t load tabs until selected.

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for what you want.

Tabs are not loaded until I select them, but after I select >80% of tabs FF is getting very slow, I have to kill the process and start it again...

I've already searched there but did not find any add-on for that, that's why I'm asking here.

Don’t load tabs until selected means that when each tab has been selected to be viewed; IOW, when you click on them to read 'em.

disallow Script Button {web link} The Disallow Script button looks like a letter "M" and the title is the Minus Script, drag and drop the button on a toolbar. If the button is not displayed then nothing operates, except rules for plugins.

This add-on was originally made to fight the FBI / Interpol fake wed sites that lock up browsers. See if this works for what you want. To restart the page, just reload it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but with that add-on I need to manually click button "disallow JS" on all 250 tabs, then, when I need to see the tab contents (working correctly) I need to click "allow JS" and hit reload?

Too much hand work... its easier to restart firefox process than to make >500 clicks...

If you combine Don’t load tabs until selected with Disallow Script. the tab will not load until it is selected, and use Disallow to turn the page off when you leave it.

"Don’t load tabs until selected" only applies to tabs from the previous session that you restore automatically (Show my windows and tabs from last time).
