cannot find correct incoming and outgoing settings for centurylink.net

I CANNOT SEND OR RECEIVE ON MOZILLA THUNDERBIRD! ...This is the 2nd time this has happened. Using their guide to put in correct settings ...thunderbird failed. I tried alternate settings that worked ,however got a warning sign saying my setting would work, but thunderbird does not use encryption.....centurylink tech support says they use encryption.??????

I,m back up after many hours working with tech support. the way I got back online was changing from centurylink's recommended server settings. They use incoming pop.centurylink.net and outgoing smtp.centurylink.net I finally got my email to work using pop.embarqmail.com and smtp.embarqmail.com instead of centurylink.net. My email address is whaigler@embarqmail.com

How about providing a link to whatever website gave you the settings?

and indeed it all uses SSL. Are these the settings that didn't work? What error messages did you get?

They use incoming pop.centurylink.net and outgoing smtp.centurylink.net I finally got my email to work using pop.embarqmail.com and smtp.embarqmail.com instead of centurylink.net.
