This issue persists even after uninstalling and reinstalling the latest version, 31. This has occurred on several different machines I support, and as far as I can tell most of them have no extensions that could be causing the issue.

Try to run the Firefox program once as Administrator (right-click: Run as Administrator).

Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.

If possible uninstall your current Firefox version to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.

  • Do NOT remove "personal data" when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords including data in profiles created by other Firefox versions.

Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

  • (32 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
  • (64 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\"

Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.

I tried these steps on some of my users, and it did not fix the issue. Thank you for the input though.

I've updated them to v32 as well, and the problem persists.

After multiple attempts of trying full uninstalls, clean re-installs and removing and adding back various other programs on the system, I've still yet to come up with a solution to this problem. Has anyone else had something like this happen?

We're currently using server managed Symantec on all effected machines and the only programs the users have in common are MS Office 2013 and Adobe Creative Suite 5.
