New Acc .keeps seeing my old address on 'Reply', Forward, & 'Write'. -- Generally highly inconvenient. - Need to be able to delete old acc. as that ISP no longer exists.

Do you need to delete the emails too?

If you remove your account

  • Go to Edit->Properties and select the Account. Then Click on Account Action at the left bottom of the current Window and delete your Account.

If you need to remove the Sending Address only, then remove the SMTP

  • Go to Edit->Properties and select the "Outgoing Server(SMTP)" > Select which one you need to remove.

Default you can't remove, if you want to delete the default, then create new SMTP and make it default and remove the older SMTP

Thanks, it worked. -- The only strange thing is that I am no longer asked for a password to obtain mail, when starting Thunderbird up. ---Otherwise seems o.k. Rgds.
