Why does U-tube ask me for my birth "DAY" to see video (I am past 80)

more options

Apparently US law has certain videos restricted from view by children under the age of 13, and for this reason Mozilla needs to know whether we are under that age. The U-Tube pop-up wants to know the day, the month, and the year of my birth. There is nothing in the US legislation that requires more than the year one is born in order to establish a person's age.

Since I am almost 83 years old, I only entered the year I was born. I do not believe in giving the exact day and month of birth into a record kept by strangers, because it is key information for identity theft. If you like to know the video deals with African culture, namely the colorful costumes of 100's of Swazi-land Zulu dancers performing for their king in front of thousands of spectators. I have seen the same and similar videos before, and the lockout was first noticed after I updated to the FF 31.0 , (MacOS 10.8.5), yesterday.

Entering only the year of birth was not accepted as proof that I am not a child, and the video remains now locked from view.

When I tried to get help on the age request page, my email and Google password were not accepted. I tried 3 times, but the same email and password still opens all my other Google, Google Earth and Firefox access. So apparently those who want my detailed birthday already lost some of data they had.

I hope people at Mozilla who worked on this access page take another look at it.

Mozilla has nothing to do with YouTube and the manner in which they determine the age of their viewers. See Google for support.
