ADOBE FAILED TO CONNECT DDE SERVER

After downloading PDF files from mail or web in Firefox browser, the file is not opening but instead it says "Adobe failed to connect DDE server". But, if I restart my laptop, the file will open normally. I have installed all the latest versions of firefox and adobe reader. If I try to open the same files from some other browsers, it is working fine. I am facing this issue only in Firefox browser

I would recommend uninstalling it and reinstalling it from scratch. Other work around reported to be helpful: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/416414 and disabling protected mode.
