I have firefox crashing frequently. It is a newly built computer we asked from an IT service. I believe it may be a flash or plugin issue. I already tried some of the suggestions online in regards to this problem but it did not produce any good results.

Here is the crash report ID and the date: Report ID Date Submitted bp-5dcda865-5f44-487c-96fa-08abe2140718 7/18/2014 12:42 AM bp-b17040d6-7e32-4f11-a803-931072140718 7/18/2014 12:41 AM bp-41a70fd5-c550-4b8d-aa62-a5f6a2140718 7/18/2014 12:41 AM bp-5ff2d60d-a200-4e57-87b3-7ad582140718 7/18/2014 12:40 AM

There are a few more but these are the recent ones.

3/4 of your crash reports consist of @ js::RegExpShared::executeMatchOnly which I've no idea what it means and I'm no close to figuring it out. I've escalated this thread so HD can provide suggestions along with other contributors. Your last crash report is @ EnterBaseline which is something to do with the JIT (just-in-time) compilers (Baseline and IonMonkey). Here's some more info just in case

You can try to disable this to see if it helps any. Try setting javascript.options.baselinejit to false in about:config:

  • Navigate to about:config in your Address Bar
  • Press the "I'll be careful, I promise!" button to proceed
  • Search for javascript.options.baselinejit and set it to false by right clicking the pref and selecting Toggle.
  • Restart Firefox and see if it works properly.

There are two things I noticed when comparing the reports above:

  1. The only extension you have is Adblock Plus. Is there a particular website you visit that this happens frequently on and does it happen to be a flash site?

Since the crash report does not reflect the extensions listed in the troubleshooting information, was there a change since the reports were submitted? And if it still happens, try to temporarily disable all extensions and see if it crashes again. Please also submit these crashes.

One more try: Profile Manager - Create, remove or switch Firefox profiles

Any improvements?
