Chosen solution

They are not search engines. They are called browsers, and yes you can use both Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer on the same computer at the same time. You can also add Google Chrome and a few others without causing problems to your computer.

Most people find after using these alternative browsers, they no longer wish to continue usage of Internet Explorer.

Firefox and IE are web browsers. The Firefox browser is a separate application as (on Windows) it is not a shell nor does integrate itself with IE.

IE or any browser may seem like a search engine if you have the Homepage in browser set for Google or another search site.

Hi Michael, I hope you are managing to use Firefox ok.

Some helpful terms

Internet Explorer is a bit odd. Everyone would get it with Windows. Effectively almost the same thing would be used as the Windows Explorer on the computer and navigating the Web

Did you find the Firefox Tour / Introduction ok ?

I make no apologies for posting a reply in very basic terms. It may not teach you much as you have already managed to find and post on this forum, but you or other readers of this question may find some of the links of use. We all need to begin somewhere, and following links is sometimes a useful method of learning.
