How can i set Thunderbird to notify me as soon as i receive an email on my outlook account?
I recently downloaded Thunderbird but when I send myself a test email, I am never notified by Thunderbird unless I manually pull the email by pressing "get mail". How can i make it notify me as soon as an email reaches my account? Thanks

I found the solution: Go to account settings and for each account, change the "check for new messages ever" to 1 minute. I think the default was set to 1o minutes but changing that fixed my problem.

are you using IMAP? Does outlook.com support Push? (I don't know, Google, yahoo and AOL do)
But IMAP with Push is the only way to get notified of new mail on the server at the time it arrives. Every other option is time based and in the case of Outlook.com on a 15 minute interval.
