When I open Mozilla Firefox my task bar disappears (with the start, time, volume, etc). I want to know how to fix this. Before you ask, no I am not in full screen mode I have checked many times. I am using Windows Vista if that helps. Thanks

HI harry_farley123,

Have any of these happened as well:

  • Was the presentation display changed? The taskbar may have moved off of the visible screen (Windows 7 and Vista only).
  • The taskbar may be set to "Auto-hide" (Windows XP with Service Pack 2 only).
  • The 'explorer.exe' process may have crashed. Check the events log.

Have you tried hovering the cursor at the bottom of the screen? This is a test for the guigs2 "Auto-hide" point above.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: Command+Shift+F).

If you are in full screen mode then hover the mouse to the top of the screen to make the Navigation Toolbar and Tab bar appear.
Click the Maximize button (top right corner of the Navigation Toolbar) to leave full screen mode or right-click empty space on a toolbar and choose "Exit Full Screen Mode" or press the F11 key.
