At startup I would like a clean page. Now there is the "fox" in the middle, and below a Google search line and below that some words from Mozilla. At the bottom some gray buttons. I don´t want any of this, How to get rid of them? Would like to attach a picture showing this but can´t do thet either.

Is there help/forum i Sedish? Cant´fint any. The translatin from english works horrible, hair risuing some times, just like the google does.

Otherwise, the program works fine form me, alwas has since the 80-s I started with The Netscape/Mozilla. Thank You in advance and greetings from a cold Sweden, I celebrated my 70 birthday 5 days ago!

Chosen solution

The value of the browser.startup.homepage should be a valid URL, either a built-in about: page like about:home or a page on the internet.

Are you talking about the browser.startup.page pref?

0:Blank
1:Home
2:LastVisited
3:ResumePreviousSession

Oh, after posted here comes a possibility to load up a picture, I try now. Hoping someone out there can fix this little issue for me. Thank You!

  • Or you can try go to about:config search for browser.startup.homepage change its value to:
    • about:home - default
    • about:blank - blank page
    • url - type a link that you want
  • about:config

If you prefer not to see snippets on the about:home page then you can set the browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl pref to an empty string on the about:config page.

Delete the storage\persistent\moz-safe-about+home folder in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed ("3-bar" Firefox menu button > Exit/Quit) to remove snippets stored in IndexedDB and make Firefox use a default snippet set.

You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)

You can reset the browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl pref via the right-click context menu to the default value to re-enable the snippets and make Firefox recreate the moz-safe-about+home folder. You need to close and restart Firefox after changing the value of the browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl pref.

You can reset the browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl pref via the right-click context menu to the default value to re-enable the snippets.

Oh! Thank YOU sooo MUCH!

It helped!

First, I never heard about the about:config It is a very good thing! Then I looked up the 'browser.startup.homepage and changed the value 1 to the value 0 (zero)

Thanks again!
