When I updated to the newest version of firefox, at the top of most webpages, excluding pages like google and youtube, I'll get a "Search Bing" at the top. This therefore is annoying, and also if you hover over it, It links to conduit, not Bing. I therefore thought this was malware, so I ran MalwareBytes, and also uninstalled and reinstalled firefox. It's still there though, and also when I open links, I'll get a new tab opened that states "PLEASE UPDATE BROWSER" "You are currently browsing the web with Firefox and your Video Player might be outdated. Please update to the latest version for better performance" and others stating to Update Flash Player.

This is also only happening on firefox.

Please Help,

Regards

Nath

I suggest checking the Windows Control Panel, Uninstall a Program, and clicking the "Installed on" column heading to see all the recently added items. There may be some surprises there that you can (or need to) remove as part of solving this problem.

Next, disable ALL nonessential or unrecognized extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable.

Usually a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.

Finally, if you need to restore your home page, new tab page, or search engine to the default settings, this extension will do it all in one go: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/searchreset/

Any luck?

Having more than one version of a program may cause issues.

Whenever you get a message / popup that software / files need to be updated,

DO NOT USE ANY OF THE PROVIDED LINKS.

While this may be a legitimate message, it could also be Malware or a Virus. Any time you want or need to check for upgrades, go to the web site of the True Owner of the program in question. For example, to check out Firefox, go to Mozilla.org. {web link}

You can sent a report to The FBI via their web site Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) {web link}

You can also report such a site at; Google Report Phishing Page {web link} which is the same when done while on site by going to Help > Report Web Forgery

Help us safeguard Mozilla’s trademarks by reporting misuse {web link}

Is Bing on a separate toolbar, or on the page itself?

Thanks all for your help, I found a program in my recently Installed programs which was called "Network Service Driver", so I looked it up on google, and several websites classed it as a Virus, it's now removed, so everything is working fine.
