Since I updated to FF 30, videos intermittently are interrupted with flashing white screen; a strobe effect. I updated Flash, and set FF to default settings.

I updated Flash, and set FF to default settings, and all I did was lose my add-ons. Nothing has changed with the video playback.

THANKS for any help!!

Is the strobing in the area controlled by the Flash plugin, or does it affect the entire Firefox window?

You may want to disable the Flash plugin's use of hardware acceleration to see whether that makes a difference. Adobe's help article on that is here:

Regarding your old settings, can you find a folder on your desktop named Old Firefox Data?

Yes, I can locate that file.

Thank you, I am trying to do this, but when I click on the logo as instructed nothing happens. Seems there's no live link.

Okay, hang on to Old Firefox Data for possible restoration after Flash calms down.

Windows users need to right-click some Flash media while it's playing to get the checkbox to disable hardware acceleration. I'm not familiar enough with Mac to know the equivalent procedure.

Okay, I managed to deselect hardware acceleration in my Firefox settings. I don't see a way to get into Flash and do the same, though.

It's definitely FF. I just tried videos in Safari and they're fine. Major bummer. I prefer FF. Is it possible to revert to the earlier version, where I didn't have problems?
