How do I turn off annoying error sound and any other sounds in Tbird?

I just got my computer back after a crash, and this time they were able to save my email , but I am having a little trouble configuring it. I can deal wtih the small text for a while, but the "boing" or whatever sound that it makes on error has got to go! If, for example, I try to delete an email while TB is still doing something else, I get a sound with a pop-up about the error. I never had sounds before. How can I make it go away? thanks, Lizzie

Hi,

I am not sure, but there is no way you can stop those sounds from emerging, they're built in for better reliability.

All you can turn off is the sound when a new email arrives. Though I have no reason to turn that off, but if you want to, here are the steps:

Open Thunderbird>Go to Edit on the taskbar/topbar>Click on Preferences>In the default General tab, uncheck the Play a sound checkbox.

Thank you. Turned out, I believe, that the sound was coming from Windows, so I have turned off most sounds there.

Oh yeah, error sounds usually arise from Windows settings. Sorry I missed that. A Linux user you see...
