How do I go back to firefox 28, 29 security is not working and page rendering is not working for some sites?
I need to go back to version 28. Version 29 security blocks access to my key online accounts and when I try to add an exception it does nothing. It even refuses to allow an exception for Mozilla so I can ask this question and I am having to use Explorer to ask this question and access other sites. Also, page rendering for FACEBOOK and other sites is not working properly in that it simply lists text and does not display graphics on the page making the it impossible to use. Again I am having to Explorer to access those pages. I am running with Windows Vista Home Premium with SP2 PLEASE help me get back version 28 and keep it until version 29 bugs are fixed.

OK I have Version 28 back BUT I still have are SECURITY PROBLEM.
MOZILLA SUPPORT is blocked due to lack of secuirty certificate and unable to add exception.
NOW FACEBOOK is blocked due to lack of secuirty certificate and unable to add exception. You click to add exception and nothing happens.
As much as I hate this, I looks like I am going to have to change browser if this continues past today.
Your problems probably were not due directly to the upgrade.
They may well relate to the time on the computer being incorrect or to security related software not recognising the new Firefox.
Here's the the solution your timeclock in your BIOS is likely to be incorrect. When turning on the PC hit F12 fast right when you turn it on.
I use Norton 360 and as far as I can see Firefox has no limits. As to SSL scanning, I do not see anything about that in any setting. I will make another attempt after a reboot
Please update back to Firefox 29, 28 is not supported anymore and is insecure (holes in 28 were fixed in 29).
After updating and trying the solutions above, please let us know what the current situation is.
Check the date and time in the clock on your computer: (double) click the clock icon on the Windows Taskbar.
Check out why the site is untrusted and click "Technical Details to expand this section.
If the certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided (sec_error_unknown_issuer) then see if you can install this intermediate certificate from another source.
You can retrieve the certificate and check details like who issued certificates and expiration dates of certificates.
- Click the link at the bottom of the error page: "I Understand the Risks"
Let Firefox retrieve the certificate: "Add Exception" -> "Get Certificate".
- Click the "View..." button and inspect the certificate and check who is the issuer of the certificate.
You can see more Details like intermediate certificates that are used in the Details pane.
If "I Understand the Risks" is missing then this page may be opened in an (i)frame and in that case try the right-click context menu and use "This Frame: Open Frame in New Tab".
- Note that some firewalls monitor (secure) connections and that programs like Sendori or FiddlerRoot can intercept connections and send their own certificate instead of the website's certificate.
- Note that it is not recommended to add a permanent exception in cases like this, so only use it to inspect the certificate.
