Why can't you move the address bar in FF 29.1 and set it up how you like it???

I hate this version of FF it's crap, my set up has gone (it took ages to set it up the way I liked it and it's just been wiped out in a single update how horrible) and I tried to set it as it was but it would appear you can't. I like FF in black including my bookmark menu as I have poor eyesight and it's much easier to read, FF is in black OK but I can't get the bookmark menu changed the way it used to be. Also can you change the TABS to the bottom. You also don't appear to be able to move the address bar it's stuck on the right hand side of the page in the most ridiculous place it could possibly be. If anyone has any ideas that would help me I would love to hear from you cheers and thank you for taking the time to read my problems I appreciate it very much. I hope that FF 30 is going to improve or it will be IE and no more FF.

  1. Install Classic Theme Restorer and restart Firefox when prompted.
  2. Open the Add-ons Manager (Ctrl+Shift+A; Mac: Command+Shift+A), then the Extensions category.
  3. Next to Classic Theme Restorer, click the Options button.
  4. On the Main tab, in the top left corner, set "Tabs not on top" and make sure "Tabs in titlebar" isn't checked. You may also want to check "Movable back-forward button", "Hide urlbars stop & reload buttons" and "Combine stop & reload buttons". Close the options window when done.
  5. Right-click an empty area of the tab bar and choose Customize.
  6. Drag buttons, the address bar and the search bar where you want them. Click the Exit Customize button in the lower right corner when done.

Thanks gingerbread man that sorted it out, except for years I was using Noia 4 and I was able have a black theme and when you clicked the bookmark menu it was also black and much easier to read with my poor eyesight. I know that Noia 4 is no longer available but if you know a way of changing the colour back to black my eyes would be eternally grateful as well as me. Cheers and many thanks for your assistance I appreciate it very much thank you again and have a good weekend with many beers.

Classic Theme Restorer is intended to be used with the default theme, but you can try it alongside a complete theme and see how it works. I quickly tested FT DeepDark and it seemed okay at a glance.

As for alternatives to Noia 4, Noia Fox and Nuvola FF are available, but neither is a dark theme.

Themes (AKA lightweight themes, personas) are also available. They only change the background of the toolbars, not the background of menus like the Bookmarks Button menu.
