Bookmark in more than one folder?

I have folders set up and often I want the same bookmark in more than one folder. It is absurd that I can't do that now! None of the answers here are any good. (The Star isn't even clickable!) Tags won't work.

Please get that ability back.

Do you mean the Star in the Edit This Bookmark dialog?

That big star can't be clicked, you can only edit the fields that are present or delete the bookmark.

Try this -

Click-hold on the website image (favicon) on the left corner of a tab and then drag it to over the "Clipboard" image (Show your bookmarks) - when the Bookmarks drop-down opens drag the "image" to the folder you want that bookmark saved in, when that folder opens release the mouse button where you want to save that bookmark.

This also works to insert a bookmark on the Bookmarks Toolbar or in the Bookmarks Sidebar - although you will need to open the Sidebar first - {Ctrl + B}

What do you mean that the star isn't clickable?

Can't you even bookmark a page once by clicking the star on the location bar?

Having multiple copies of one bookmark is only possible by making a copy of the bookmark via the right-click context menu or by dragging a tab of "Site Identity Button" (globe/padlock) on the location bar to a specific bookmarks folder.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

Thanks edmeister. At least this does work. I appreciate it.

The Star I was reffering to is the big star that you see when you click "Bookmark this page" - that's the one that was in the message I read earlier. Yes, the small star in the bar works.

Thank you for the help
