Firefox Hello lets you make free video and voice calls directly from the browser. All you need are a microphone, a webcam (optional), and the latest version of Firefox to call friends who are on WebRTC-supported browsers like Firefox, Chrome, or Opera.

Invite someone to talk
- Click on the Hello button .
- Tip: Move the Hello button to your toolbar. For more information, see Where is the Firefox Hello button?.
- Click the button to send the link to a friend using your default email application, or click and paste the link into another messaging application.
- When your friend clicks on the link to start a call, a notification will pop up on your browser:
- Click the button to accept the conversation. Choose the video camera option if you'd like to have a video conversation, or the microphone option for a voice-only call.
- Use the privacy controls to mute your microphone or turn off your camera as needed.
- To end the call, click .
Start a conversation
- Click on the Hello button .
- (Tip: Move the Hello button to your toolbar. For more information, see Where is the Firefox Hello button?).
- Click
- Click the copy button next to the room link and use your favorite email or messaging program to send the link to your conversation partner.
- Tip: Label your conversation by clicking on the link itself and creating a name for it in the prompt.
- A sound accompanied by a blue dot will let you know when your partner has joined the room.
- To end the call, click .
- The room will stay on your list for future conversations with that partner. You can delete it by clicking the trash icon next to the conversation.
Join a conversation
Received an invitation? Joining a conversation is easy! Just click on the link on the invitation. You will be prompted to either call the sender or join the sender's conversation room.

Contact lists and direct calling
While you don't need an account to use Firefox Hello, a Firefox Account will let you add, manage and call your contacts directly with just a click.

Control your notifications
If you're not ready to receive a call, click on the status menu at the bottom of the window and set it to
to stop all call notifications.
