web2pdfextension@web2pdf.adobedotcom is the only thing you should delete, whether it's a folder or a file with the .XPI extension. You should first quit Firefox.
{ec8030f7-c20a-464f-9b0e-13a3a9e97384} is the application ID for Firefox. It means add-ons in that folder are only for Firefox (and not Thunderbird or Seamonkey).
I think the directions about the installation folder only apply to Windows¹. I've edited the aforementioned article to fix the information for Mac and Linux. It will be updated if an editor approves the changes.
Your profile folder contains your personal stuff. Globally installed add-ons are meant to be available to all users, so you won't find their files in there.
You're welcome ^_^

Hello,
Firefox doesn't have a Restart menu option. Firefox only prompts you to restart when installing or updating certain add-ons, or when updating Firefox itself.
A "restart" option in the menu is a feature provided by add-ons. Can you post your list of add-ons?
- Type about:support into the address bar and press Enter.
- Copy everything in the Extensions section to the clipboard.
- In your reply here, type
<pre><nowiki>(paste the clipboard contents here)</pre></nowiki>
thx for speedy reply gingerbread man! helpful to know, restart is an addon issue v FF issue fyi - FF just crashed again! thanks goodness for session manager to simply recovery.
what are we looking for? what does pre and nowiki mean?

Thank you for your help!
More information and further troubleshooting steps can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly) article.
um deb.. i think you popping a standard reply in. this question is about restart not crashing.
But you said " FF just crashed again!" in your last post .
The Restart Firefox add-on from your list of extensions has been updated three years ago the last time. Uninstall it and use this one instead.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/restartless-restart/
Beyond that, with the list of extensions you've installed I'm not surprised you do see crashes. Probably half of them could be removed without loosing any functionality, and many of them are redundant. E.g. what's the point to have both, Adblock Plus and Adblock Edge?
seasaltseasalt wrote:

Any extension related to restarting Firefox, which has already been identified in the post above this one.
As a general rule, you shouldn't have multiple add-ons that do the same thing. You're bound to run into trouble that way. If the problems persist, it would be best to use the Reset Firefox feature to start over with a fresh profile, and only install one add-on that performs a particular function (e.g. just Adblock Plus, not Adblock Edge, etc.).

Globally installed add-ons can't be removed from the Add-ons Manager by normal means. To get rid of these, you usually have to uninstall the third-party application they're bundled with from the Windows Control Panel.
seasaltseasalt wrote:

They're formatting tags that are supposed to properly space text (clearly with mixed results). Also, if you want to write in bold text, use three apostrophes instead of and .
thankyou gingerbread man. very helpful indeed. the markup is exactly what i have been looking for. I never know what to call these things.
I have cleaned up the add-ons. I created a brand new profile. I did not install 1Password addon and it has been crash free for entire day. Hopeful.
Cannot uninstall addon. I followed the article link. Most helpful. troubleshooting ID is "web2pdfextension@web2pdf.adobedotcom" but under my Profile/Extensions folder it is not to be found.. Even in the new profile, it shows on the add on page and does not appear in the Profile/Extensions folder. So I thought maybe it is one of the special exceptions, a "Globally Installed extension"
In the KB article it says under Gllobally installed extensions
. Go to your Firefox installation folder. Go to the extensions folder inside the installation folder. Follow the steps above to locate the appropriate folder to delete.
I did not know where "Firefox Installation folder" is?
- I did a search on my system for ""web2pdfextension@web2pdf.adobedotcom" and it showed me it is under
- HD/Library/Application Support/Mozilla/Extensions/s{ec8030f7-c20a-464f-9b0e-13a3a9e97384}/then the addon ID as a folder
- do i delete the number folder or just from the addonID folder?
- whereas my profile directory is located (maverick osx)
- HD/users/myname/Library/Applicaiton Support/Firefox/Profiles
thankyou again - such a super reply!
