I am setting up a new Thunderbird account and do not have a password. How do I get a password?

maureensmith

I need to know how to enter a new password. My original Thunderbird account was eliminated. My Mac was hacked and in the process of cleaning my laptop, Thunderbird was erased. Also, I have more than one email address. They were all listed and available on my original Thunderbird account. Thank you for your help. You'll have to login to your email account via web browser to change the password for your account. If you lost your account password check with your email provider about password reset options. Once you do have a working password Thunderbird will prompt you for the password when it's needed. You can then tell Thunderbird to remember the password, so that you won't have to type it again and again every time it's needed.
