My trash folder

Sherry Mayfield

I have previously been able to view my trash folder and either empty or keep messages. My trash folder now has nothing in it, ever. Where is my trash going and why can I no longer see it?

Hi Sherry

If you have an IMAP account then the 'Trash' folder is synchronised to the server Trash and can only display whatever is on the server.

Many servers auto empty the Trash, some after 30 days, others it can be 7 days. After all, they are unwanted emails.

What server are you talking about? gmail, comcast, yahoo etc ?

Also check - Account Settings > Server SEttings Under Message Storage bottom right 'Clean up (Expunge) Inbox on exit' 'Empty Deleted folder on exit' are those checkboxes selected ?

Also check account settings > server settings > when I delete a message.

Are you using any message filters?
