I am thankful as thunderbird was the only program that allowed me to make my scanner work outside of the microsoft live jungle if that makes sense. Pete

From a legal POV, Mozilla Foundation is a non-profit, with a mission is ensure that the internet remains a public resource that is open and accessible to everyone.

Mozilla Corporation, the entity which develops Firefox, from a legal POV is a for-profit organization. But from an operational POV it is not in business to "make money" in the conventional sense.

Similarly, MZLA, the entity which develops Thunderbird, from a legal POV is a for-profit organization. But from an operational POV it is not in business to "make money" in the conventional sense.
