Did a reinstall of win11, which wiped out my old files-- re-downloaded latest Tbird, but can't get it to sync up and download my archived emails-- What am I doing wrong, and how do I get it to work? Sledgehammer is looking better and better.......

If you are using Windows OS then it's likely Windows created a 'windows.old' folder.

That windows.old folder should contain your original Thunderbird profile and all data.
