I have reset my mobile and would like to re-add my Firefox account in Google authenticator. How do I do that?

After a mobile reset, I have lost the Google Authenticator settings. I could relink every app or service that used it, except my Firefox account: there does not seem to be any way to do that, since the "deactivate" button in the account settings does not do anything. I can still use my recovery codes of course, but this is not very satisfying in the long term.

Thank you. Precisely, the desactivate button does not work. Therefore I have tried to change my password as you suggest, but it said "Session unverified".

So, thinking I might need to verify my session I finally logged out and in again, using another one of my emergency codes. Then I could disable and re-enable 2FA!

Conclusion: you need a fresh login to disable 2FA. This constraint makes sense, but I think it should be documented somewhere.

Hi, please see Google or the add-on/Extension that you are using to do do that for the information and support.

Said in other words, how do I get the Firefox/Mozilla account to show a QR code again to be registrated in a 2FA application?

Hi, you keep asking for Phone information on the Desktop and laptop/notebook forum. Which you made using Win 10.

The only Google Authenticator I know is add-ons and this, as well depending on your phone OS.

Yes, I do :-) because I manage my Firefox account from a computer, and wish to be able to connect to it from any device. Sure I use a mobile authenticating app, but this not where the problem lies. I am not asking for phone information (everything is fine on that side), I am asking for a way to reinitiate the 2 step authentication from the web page that is supposed to permit it.

The red button on the screen capture does not work. So there must be a way.

Try to disable 2FA and re-enable 2FA on that Firefox account. That should allow to setup Google authenticator once again. If that doesn't work then try to reset the password of the Sync account.
