8.24.2026 As of yesterday, Thunderbird Inbox new messages have no content showing. Today, a few new messages can through with a date stamp only-- no subject or sender info and no content when clicked on. Ran the Troubleshooter procedure in which all old Inbox messages vanished. Some slowly came back with subject/sender info but now their content is missing. Today, Spam folder held new messages w/subject/sender line and content showing. But still no new emails with/subject/sender and content. just a time stamp. What's going on?

I wish to have a non American email client, but most free ones have a 1GB limit. Can I set Thunderbird to save all emails to my home PC so that if I delete the email in the email client, it is still saved on my home PC? So far I have not downloaded or installed Thunderbird, so just asking if it is posible, if so I will install Thunderbird.

I ran the Troubleshooting Mode yesterday which initially "deleted" every email in my Inbox. Last night and into this am, those missing emails have begun to slowly show up in the Inbox. New emails are also coming in today but without any content, as in, their message does not appear when clicked on.

When scrolling down to view older emails from earlier this year, same problem with no content showing up after clicking on item.

Why is this happening? I'm not a developer so need elementary instructions on what I need to do to restore whatever has gone haywire.

I am running Thunderbird mail on a Win 11 desktop. I have four email accounts displayed, plus my 'Private Folders'. Each email account has it's own 'Deleted' folder, but I also have a 'Deleted' folder in my Private Folders list that I would like to remove. Can I?

My inbox shows only 3 unread emails, but the total for the folder shows 32. If I use filter for 'attachment emails' it displays 12 emails but not the unread ones. I have played with the filters and it will only display 3 unread and if selected 12 attachment emails. I have two accounts on thunderbird email client on Win 11 and the other one is fine, this one only started to have the display issues over the last week. I have compared all the settings for both accounts and they are the same (except for addresses). How can i get the inbox to show all 32 emails

Hi, Hoping I can get some help here, I couldn't find an answer in the search topics.

I have lost a few local subfolders. First the subfolders lost the emails contained in them and then the subfolders themselves disappeared.

I renamed the main folder just removing the year from the folder name and not long after that the above happened.

I have tried the following:

• Searching the help topics • Searching the forum • Closing reopening Thunderbird • I removed .msf files and restarted Thunderbird

I am not sure what I can do now.

I have used Thunderbird with the same email account for years, creating subfolders and moving emails to the subfolders with no issues.

With Thunderbird 153.0.1, after creating a new subfolder in the account, when attempting to move emails to the new folder, I receive the following error:

"Thunderbird: The current command did not succeed. The email server responded: APPEND invalid flag list"

When I added a new subfolder it disappeared. When I tried to add it again it just shows up. Today I can't add a new subfolder and the info in the folder I had won't show up.

Depuis le passage à Thunderbird 154.0 (64 bits), plusieurs de mes comptes IMAP ont vu leur arborescence se modifier de façon inattendue.

Avant, j’avais une présentation de ce type :

Brouillons Envoyés Archives Indésirables Corbeille Courrier entrant Clients Fournisseurs etc.

Depuis peu, sur plusieurs comptes, les dossiers spéciaux Brouillons, Envoyés, Archives, Indésirables, Corbeille apparaissent désormais sous Courrier entrant.

Le phénomène touche notamment :

un compte Orange ; un compte hébergé sur un domaine personnel ; un autre compte professionnel IMAP.

En revanche, un compte Free reste affiché correctement.

En comparant les abonnements IMAP, je constate que :

sur le compte Free, Sent, Trash, etc. sont réellement à la racine du serveur, tandis que les dossiers personnels sont sous INBOX ; sur les comptes qui posent problème, les dossiers spéciaux et les dossiers personnels sont tous sous INBOX.

J’ai essayé le paramètre :

Paramètres serveur > Avancés > Dossier sur le serveur IMAP = INBOX

Cela fait bien remonter les dossiers spéciaux au niveau du compte, mais cela remonte également tous les dossiers personnels, donc l’arborescence devient entièrement plate.

J’ai également constaté qu’un déplacement manuel peut produire une erreur du serveur du type :

Client tried to access nonexistent namespace. Mailbox name should probably be prefixed with: INBOX.

Je cherche donc à savoir :

Thunderbird 154 a-t-il modifié la façon dont les dossiers spéciaux IMAP (Sent, Drafts, Trash, etc.) sont affichés lorsqu’ils sont physiquement sous INBOX ? Existe-t-il un réglage permettant de conserver les dossiers personnels sous Courrier entrant, tout en affichant les dossiers spéciaux au niveau du compte comme auparavant ? S’agit-il d’un comportement connu ou d’un bug de la version 154 ?

Je peux fournir les paramètres IMAP avancés et les captures des fenêtres S’abonner si nécessaire.

I have a new PC. I have added five email accounts, three different hosts, with some difficulty. Thunderbird finds the details for others but then refuses with the message Authentication error. Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password.

I added Thunderbird by copying from my old PC. The hosts for those not yet added are the same as those added.

In Thunderbird, I have several email folder names that were changed, and I also created new folders, but I cannot see them after restarting Thunderbird. How do I get these folders back? In the past, I have gone to the server of my email provider and fixed this sort of issue there. This time I have not been as successful. How do I get my missing email folders back?

Thank you for the advice on copying the Thunderbird folder, which I have done. However, what is failing is the adding of further existing email accounts. I enter the Account name, the email address and the password but I still get Authentication error. I have, after some difficulty, succeeded in adding five accounts with three different hosts. The further accounts I wish to add use two of the hosts of the successful additions.

Grouping emails is awesome. Also have the preview show a bunch of compressed email info when a group is selected. However if the group contains only one email nothing is previewn. Is this a bug or a feature?

ich benutze Thunderbird 154.0 unter Windows 11 Pro, aktuelle Updates. Seit geraumer Zeit bekam ich die Meldung, dass Ordner Posteingang nicht komprimiert werden kann, weil er ungültige Daten enthält. Das habe ich heute abgeklemmt, indem ich die automatische Komprimierung abgeschaltet habe. Danach war eigentlich alles gut und ich hätte besser nichts mehr machen sollen. Aber dann entdeckte ich den Button "Ordner reparieren". Nachdem ich den geklickt habe, werden mir im Posteingang keine Mails mehr angezeigt, Anzahl = 0, Größe auf Datenträger jedoch 2,3 GB. Die Daten scheinen noch vorhanden zu sein, nur die Anzeige scheitert. Im Papierkorb sind die vermissten Mails auch nicht zu finden. Alle anderen Ordner sind inhaltlich ok. Ich habe eine 5 Tage alte Sicherung, die ich auf einem anderen Windows-11-Rechner mit frischer Thunderbird-Installation eingespielt habe. Leider zeigt sich dort nun das identische Problem. Hat jemand eine Idee?

Также отсутствует полный счётчик всех имеющихся сообщений в папке Входящие (только 99+).

Within the past day or so, which means 7-18-26 or later, some of my email messages on thunderbird for my pc have a "From" description that is not correct. I look at the messages, and the "From" is entirely different than the "From" description when looking at the email message list. I have never encountered this problem before. I'm using thunderbird 152.0.1 64-bit on my pc.
