I have been using T-bird for years successfully until lately. We have multiple email addresses in Comcast and Gmail, but lately our passwords that we have been using and know are correct because they are written on paper and Keypass, are being changed somehow so that they will no longer work. When we look at the saved passwords in Thunderbird we see some have been changed on a certain date that we did not do, and the password listed now must be about 200 characters long. Then when we go to change the password, it may be listed as changed. Then when we try to send a message with that email address, we get an error message saying, for example, smtp.googlemail.com and a wrong username/address completely. I can find no way to correct the username email in any settings in Thunderbird. I have searched the Thunderbird HELP files many times, but am unable to find any of this addressed anywhere. After trying to fix these problems for most of 3 days now, I have get rid of Thunderbird for an email client that works correctly!!!

Hello, Thunderbird has already imported my Hotmail account. How do I import my Outlook.com account? It was offered to me the first time, to add another one but for some reason, I could not. Thanks

Clearly, this is a very basic question which has undoubtedly been answered before, but I haven't been able to find it. If Thunderbird had an old-style Help feature with an index, I could probably look it right up. But coming to the forum is the only option the program gives me.

I have created a new gmail address for my wife. Would like to add this address to my existing Thunderbird Mail account so that her emails also come to my Thunderbird email account. Not sure how to add her address to do this.. Thanks

I don't like the idea of multiple users having access to my phone , and as far a meta apps like FB and messenger there like wormhole virisus that open external page after external page while navigating there apps causing a multi tab over load on my browser not toention my battery drainage

I have been working with a new service provider to move my domain and Email service for the past week. The domain move wasn’t an issue, but migrating Email has been a major pain. The new service technical staff had numerous issues just accessing the Outlook account, so copying the inbox and folders turned into a nightmare. Then I installed Office 365, just to access Outlook, and create PST files, which I provided to the new service tech staff, to synchronize all folders, but most of the PST files didn’t end up in the new server.

So, in Thunderbird I created an account for the Outlook service, and that synchronized everything, and was ecstatic! I then attempted to change the correctly synchronized Outlook account on Thunderbird, to the new IMAP server, but I can’t figure out how to change from the Microsoft Exchange Mail Server, to the new IMAP server. Since the Email Addresses on both servers will be the same, and only change with the DNS update to point to the new server, I am unable to create an IMAP account on Thunderbird, along side the Outlook account.

I am at a loss as to what I can do at this point. Can anyone help?

I just download the latest version of Thunderbird, and try to add my pop mail account. But after i enter the info of outgoing server settings, the Continue button is gray and can't be clicked. once I try the test, it says that Thunderbird failed to find the settings for your email account. Can't find a server. Also i find that there is no place enter the password of my mail account.

I have a new gmail account and I can't figure out how to get Thunderbird to show me messages that come in to that address. I changed some things trying to set up a second account but emails still don't arrive. I am using a desktop computer with the most recently updated Windows 11 and updated Thunderbird too. What am I missing?

Thunderbird administers my 7 "aol" email addresses (accounts) on my Dell laptop (running Windows 7). 5 of the accounts are behaving normally, but the other two accounts appear to be linked. So, when I send an email from one of them, it appears in both "sent" folders. When I receive an email in one of them, it appears in both "in box" folders. When I visit "mail.aol.com", these 2 accounts behave normally. So it appears that they are linked within Thunderbird. Can you suggest a possible solution? Thanks, Tim

I received an email that said my account would be closed in 7 days unless I signed in.

I leave my Mozilla tabs permanently open and use them every day. I tried to sign in as instructed and got an "unknown error" about 3 times. Then I was sent to a page talking about Windows 10. I have the extension; that's not a problem for me.

Closing Mozilla and possibly losing all those open tabs would be a BIG problem. Evidently I'm signed in now. I hope everything is OK with my Mozilla account.

I am a long time Thunderbird user and set up a monthly donation. I no longer have access to that Email account and I need to stop the donation. The Donor portal won't work because it requires me to access my original email account.

I have created an account instance in account settings, and the "Test connection to server" says it is OK, but when I go to the mail tab the get messages button and New Message are grayed out an NO accounts are listed in the "folders" area. Not does it ever ask for my password to the SMTP server I have selected. I have an existing account with my own email service (Hover), and MUST connect to that. This is critical, as I need my e-mail to accomplish necessary activities.

Question 1: How can I add an HTML signature file for an account in Thunderbird for Android by referencing a file on my phone? Or, something similar that will accomplish the same thing (i.e., HTML email .sig).

Background: In Thunderbird on my Desktop (currently using 140.10.1esr), I can go to Account Settings, select an email account, check the "Attach the signature from a file instead (text, HTML, or image):" and then "Choose..." a file I created on my local machine. My file is HTML (e.g., mysig.html) and references an image (in the same local directory). I want to replicate this in TBA.

Question 2: If there is no way to do this (the functionality is not purposefully there and there is no work-around to fool TBA into behaving properly), is there a place I can submit this request to the developers?

My grandson got on my computer and was messing around with my email. Now when I open Thunderbird I get a pop up window that says sign in with google to continue to Thunderbird. It has my grandson's Gmail address in it and asks for a password. I can X out of it and continue to Thunderbird but it will pop up several times while I am reading my email. Why is this happening and how do I get rid of this pop up window.
