Hello, I've found this article [[Knowledge Base Article|https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/maildir-thunderbird]] which substantially says that the use of maildir is deprecated. Has anything changed from the time that article was posted? I'd like to use maildir, it seems to me a more rational way to store e-mails (and it's also better to make incremental backups).

After creating a IMAP email setup instead of the old pop3, I want to move my old folders over to the IMAP setup, but when clicking 'copy to', 'move to' or just simply dragging them nothing happens. No errors no nothing.

Whats wrong ?

I have been using three email accounts on Thunderbird, all for a long period of time, and all without any issue. Recently the one listed below has not been backing up, and I receive this message. I am not techie at all, so any response needs to be dummy down to a 5th grader level. Thanks!

"Non-overridable TLS error occurred. Handshake error probably the TLS version or certificate used by server mail.q.com is incompatible."

I am asked to get a new password from my mail server (AOL) every day when trying to send messages. Have to log on to AOL, ask for app password, enter at Thunderbird. DAILY!

A while ago, I had to work offline so I had TB download my Gmail account messages. Now I no longer want these messages to be stored locally, because the Thunderbird folder is up to 10Gb, so I unchecked the box in Synchronization for 'Keep messages in all folders for this account on this computer'. I was hoping the TB would subsequently purge the offline folders, but apparently not. Is there a way to clean out the folders without affecting my online Gmail folders as in Inbox and Sent folders?

With the recent update on Thunderbird, and installing it on a new computer, I can't seem to locate where the setting is that shows "Read" after so many seconds of viewing. Could someone redirect me? Thanks so very much!

Is there any way to select other than the "home" calendar as standard? Have tried to change order in the calendar setting, but when I accept a meeting invitation it always place the meeting in the home calendar. I would like to select the syncronized Google calendar.

The syncronization with Google calender works perfect when manual enter something.

I have two computers, one older with TB 115.9.0 32 bit, pop. The other has 115.9.0 64 bit, imap, same email address. I have tried to merge them, but when i do the Thunderbird Import folder has zero messages and no subfolders. I also tried changing the old TB to IMAP, didnt work: "configuration problem". Any help would be appreciated.

Yesterday my Thunderbird was sending but NOT saving sent messages. I was receiving all messages. Today, however, I CANNOT RECEIVE or SEND messages. I have used Thunderbird on this computer for years . . . what has happened?

About 3-4 days ago, images no longer appeared inline and there isn't a button to show images, just an empty box. My T'bird is set to auto update, so not sure if an update caused this? Not sure if it's related, but at the same time, my rss feeds stopped due to "invalid security certificates." I did not make any changes to previous settings. Thanks for any suggestions!

I want to export mails only of a certain mail account (I have got 6). I would like not to export ALL accounts in ONE zip file but I want to have different zips. Is that possible? Why do I want that? I am active in 3 different organisations and I have a private account and - it can almost not be avoided - a google mail account. So when I look for a certain mail I know which zip I have to import and to look for it. Years ago I used MS outlook and I had the possibility to create archives as defined for each account and - if necessary and wanted - for each year. Is this also possible in Thunderbird? If yes HOW? Many thanks in advance!

Bug forever (years, versions, reinstallations).

Failure by filters whose action is to DELETE. As stated in subject. Uncomplicated.

Other filters work (they distribute msgs into specified folders).

I have had a few emails that did not show up in the inbox listing, so the message count at the top indicated more messages than were listed. Doing a search showed them, and by moving them from the search results to another folder, and then re-searching and moving them back, caused most of them to appear. But not all - I still have a message count of 20, but only 19 listed, see photo 1. Photo 2 shows the hidden email (from Barry Chandler). So the email is there, it's just not visible!

I have 4 different email accounts, all managed by IONOS. These have all been set up under thunderbird OK. But when I send an email from 1 of these email accounts I always have to enter my password for that a/c. With all the other accounts, this is not necessary. I do not use Thunderbird or Firefox password managers. I assume that I must have made an error in setting up the outgoing details when setting up that particular account in Thunderbird, but I cannot find a way of checking if that is the case.

When I try to: 1) click and drag an email's attachment to my desktop, I get an "Unspecified Error" dialog box. 2) use the Save button (on the bottom right of the attachment line), the saved file is zero size. These occur if the email is shown in TB or in a separate window.

Workaround: When I click and drag (or save) the EMAIL to my desktop, the resulting file is an '.eml' file, which I able to "open with" TB from Windows Explorer -- this attachment is valid, if I click open or save it.

I am running Windows 7/TB Supernova 115.3.3 (64-bit)

I don't deal with many email attachments, so I am okay with the workaround, but would like find a way to correct this issue.
