Have no idea to whom I was chatting a week or so ago, but outlook.office365.com was recommended to me as the incoming server setting for Outlook.com. Set TB that way and used it for a week or so. TODAY got a "failure to authenticate" error from TB (have had many such errors before). Went directly to Copilot, as I thought it would be the most authoritarian place to clear up Microsoft problems. It provided the informaiton below: Official Outlook.com Thunderbird Incoming Server Settings (2026) IMAP (recommended) Settings Server name: imap-mail.outlook.com Port: 993 Security: SSL/TLS Authentication; OAuth2 Username; Your full Outlook.com email address

Why this is the correct server Outlook.com, Hotmail, Live, and MSN accounts do not use outlook.office365.com .

Set outlook account incoming server to imap-mail.outlook.com and reset TB Immediately got: Mozilla Thunderbird Thunderbird Authentication failure while connecting to server imap-mail.outlook.com.

Can someone please tell what's going on?

Can't access or re-add my existing outlook account to thunderbird 147.0. Tried using my password, an app password. Nothing. Keep seeing the same error over and over again.

The weather widget is set the country I am from, however I would like to actually use a different location for the weather. Is it possible to do? I tried to type in the city I want it to be set to but it only shows cities from my country.

As you can see in the screenshot, the umlauts are missing in many emails. Unfortunately, the corresponding fonts can no longer be set in Thunderbird; I use version 140.6.0esr (32-bit). Where can I set that ä, ö, ü, ß (...) are displayed normally? Greetings from Berlin, Markus

I've always experience occasional TB crashes. According to my log history there was 1 in July, 3 in Aug, 2 in Sep, 2 in Oct, and 6 in Nov. I never really paid attention since the reboot was quick. But now in December I am losing work and it is a major problem. I've had 30 crashes in Dec and 21 in the past week. I have only 3 add ons and they have not changed, and a Copernic connector. I disable the Copernic connector and it didn't help. I have the same 140.6 on my Surface Go with the same add ons, except for Copernic and it runs fine. On both PCs I use Malewarebytes and WinDef. I have put exclusions for them in their setups. Even with MBAM completely disabled I've still had crashes.

I cleared the Cache and no help. I've even had occasional crashes in Troubleshooting mode. Here are my last 5 crash IDs

Interestingly I’m also experiencing crashes with Firefox, especially ChatGPT. I cleared the ChatGPT history and that helped but did not solve the problem. I cleared the Firefox cache and in troubleshoot mode still have issues.

Otherwise my win11 PC seems to be working fine. I’ve run chkdsk and all is ok. Also scannow is ok.

Is my next step a profile rebuild?

When I accessed TB it updated to an ESR (Eclipse) version and when I load it I get a message saying I've used an old version, would I like to create a new profile. ( I didn't) I've copied my backup to the profile but many folders are missing from the current profile.

How do I get all my folders to display? I've reinstalled TB version 147 without the ESR option.

Thunderbird 140.7.0esr (aarch64) on macOS26.02

For several days now, Thunderbird has been responding extremely slowly to mouse movements or clicks. This leads to undesirable results because emails are suddenly deleted that should not be deleted (due to forced double clicks). Or folders are not opened, or the wrong folders are opened.

The last change was updating Thunderbird. Is this a known bug?

Hallo everybody who wants to help me, A few days ago, YouTube opened a tab in my browser without being asked. How can I stop this? It started with youtube automatically opening the installed app every day. I then uninstalled the app. Since uninstalling it, youtube opens a tab in my firefox every day, which I don't want. Hello, I have a problem with sending out emails. I can receive them but not send. when I set up an email and click on send, it does the spellcheck then attempts to send it, then a dialogue box comes up with: 'log into server smtp.iprimus.com.au with user name janas_3 failed'. It gives me the options of: Retry, Enter new password or cancel. I have tried using the existing password, and a new one and nothing works. I have contacted my Internet provider, who checked all the account settings, which were correct. Their advice was to contact Thunderbird for support, can you help me please?

Several days ago we inadvertently deleted batches of emails from our two Thunderbird Gmail accounts on our PC and Apple devices. The lost emails were duly recovered but only after having to change my Google password. However one of our Thunderbird Gmail account will not download any new messages coming in. Ultimately we deleted that account from Thunderbird, intending to reinstall it. We deleted the account by pressing the Red button in account settings. We confirmed that messages are received to Gmail's Web page Inbox Now when I attempt to reinstall the account and press Add Account, I get the UNABLE TO LOG IN AT SERVER MESSAGE shown below. The "Your Full Name" I am putting in is the name on the Google account deleted from Thunderbird, and the password I have tried is my new Google password. I have tried the process of not adding in the password until requested to do so but this did not work either. Any suggestions please?

I have been using Easy Screenshot for years. Today I tried taking a screenshot and it opened a huge copy of the rectangular image I wanted to save in a new tab. Then there was no visible way to save the image. I used to get the option to save the image file in the same tab as the image I wanted to save. Took a screenshot and saved in Paint to show the contents of the Firefox window that image is huge and should have been 4 inches wide at most. Also the lack of how to save the image.

I'm wondering if this a because of the latest update. Firefox 147.0.1 X64 desktop WIN10 22h2 with ESU

When I tried reporting the problem on the add-on page the website it tried to connect to was not working so asking here for help.

Thunderbird was working fine on my Laptop until yesterday's update. Now I keep getting the above message. There is plenty of desk space and my write privileges haven't changed, If I delete yesterday's messages and try downloading new ones those messages reload. I think my tablet hasn't yet installed the update and is currently loading emails normally. Any help, much appreciated!
