Im new to thunderbird. Even though I have created a main password I find that I suddenly I can open the application and view accounts and even security info, without putting it in anyway. I press cancel and the application opens and I can see accounts.

I havent saved the password anywhere so its not automatically being filled in. Is this just for offline access? How can I tell if my accounts are secured and what my  offline/ online status is when using thunderbird?

I have used Thunderbird since vs 2.0. I currently have 7 active email accounts, but have had up to 12 on my Windows platform running with no problems. Installed: Thunderbird vs 140.3.1esr Windows 10

I have recently had problems with the password entry for three of the accounts which use verizon.net, managed by AOL.

When sending a message on that email system, I often have to enter the outgoing server password manually. I have changed password on all three verizon.net email accounts, and for a few days email sends worked fine. But now, I am back to having to enter the password in the pop-up box when sending mail.

Any reason why this problem occurs after the system has operated fine for months/years. I don't see this problem with my other accounts using different mail servers.

I am receiving messages via Thunderbird from everyone except for one person who is a close friend and who has been messaging me for years. Now, for some reason, her messages aren't reaching me. Has her account been blocked for some reason and, if so, how can I remove that block so I can receive her messages again? She is with Outreach I think and uses a Plusnet e-mail address (not sure if that is right!). Many thanks.

I upgraded to Firefox 143.0.4 and lost all of my Bookmarks. How do I find and reload my Default Profile? Also, I cannot load anything in Firefox I am forced to use Edge which I do not like at all!!!!

Hello, After 20+ years, I have finally begun the process of retiring my Dell Studio 1745. I have been able to set up Thunderbird on a new laptop under Windows 11 (not really happy about it but you have to do what you have to do).

I am wondering what would be the best way to move the personal folders off of the Dell and onto the new Lenovo?

I have thought about copying the Dell’s profile over to the Lenovo in a temporary area like C:\Temp and then cutting everything under the old profile over to the new one replacing all files (after backing up the new profile first of course). I’m thinking this would migrate the address books as well.

Once I have the folders and address books moved across, I will delete them from the old Dell.

Not sure if this is the best way. Any and all help/ideas/comments would be most appreciated.

Seems like every time I come here, not only do I have to re-login, but also do the 2-step verification. Is there any way to avoid all this?

I understand the need for security precautions, but my circumstances don't require 2-step verification or the re-login.

I am almost BLIND, "dark reader" extension that I paid for but cannot activate is BLOCKING important functions like the CAM I need to read with. I have contacted him many times, he just cruelly plays with me. he just keeps telling me over & over & over to do DO what is impossible to do because what I need is NOT THERE!. I am done with him. I will have to PAY A CAB to drive me & my crippled computer to a computer tec. in the hope they can clean up his mess.

Hi. I've never had problems with Thunderbird before but recently I can't get my new emails. I get an error that says "Login to server pop.gmail.com with username *****@telus.net failed." I click retry and get the same thing again. After that I get "Sending of username did not succeed. Mail server pop.gmail.com responded: Too many commands before auth e21mb51124658oos". Any ideas to help fix this? It was all working fine until all of a sudden it wasn't. I made no changes to anything. I have no problem getting my email on gmail or in Outlook. Thanks
