I have to remove the account, and then add it back again. It will then work for a while. This problem affects each of my four computers, and all of the email accounts.

I am wondering if the issue you are seeing is happening because of the message, or if the message is displayed because you have an issue with your Gmail account.

Google imposes limits on checking e-mail too often, from multiple devices. If you are checking messages from four computers too often, this might be the cause.

What happens if you just check your e-mail from one computer and ensure Thunderbird is closed on the others?
