Having issues with Youtube and Firefox 28 for Mac

Hello Firefox community. I am having an issue with Firefox 28 for Mac and Youtube and I can't seem to find anyone having this same issue.

It's kinda hard to describe but basically the video is very "laggy". I've recorded my screen while watching a short clip on Youtube so everyone can actually see the issue: http://fr.tinypic.com/r/e1aj60/8 (this is exactly how I see it).

- I was using an old version of Flash (I'm sorry, I didn't check which) so I thought that maybe updating it to the latest (13.x) would solve it. It did not.

- I tried disabling all of my plugins (I don't have a lot and they're all well tested and widely used such as AdBlock and Firebug) and it did not change anything. However, playing the video while in private navigation mode does solve the issue (!).

- I've also noticed that I don't have any issues with the embedded player, videos play just fine.

- I am always being served the Flash version of the video (not the HTML5 one).

Is anyone experiencing this issue ?

Hi,

The YouTube Opt-in HTML5 Page https://www.youtube.com/html5 This always worked for me when I had a Mac.

Hi,

Hey thanks Laurens, I worked indeed !

I guess it will not fix the issue for 100% of the videos (especially old videos) but I believe a fair amount of Youtube videos are "HTML5 ready" now.

Thanks a lot !
