when entering a letter in the address box for a new email several addresses come up. Some are not correct. How do I delete them?
When I start a new email on TB I type in the first letter of the person I want to address and a bunch of addresses pop up for me to chose from. Some of these are incorrect because of the way I put them in or they are not needed. In either case I would like to delete them from popping up. How do I do that? Thanks

Open your Address Book.
Search both, your Personal Address Book, and Collected Addresses for the incorrect contacts, and delete them.
That eliminated most of the bad ones, but there are still some bogus addresses that pop up. The man that set up my computer and TB was just putting in some addresses that didn't mean anything and tried to send them for some reason and now they are just cluttering up the pop up box
Thunderbird auto completion gets the info from the Address Books.
You could try these methods:
- Search all your Address Books using the search function.
- Remember to check in the 'Additional email address field.
- Start a new message, address it to one or more bad addresses. Save it as a draft. Now view it in Drafts, where you can right-click the addresses and thereby locate and edit their entries in your Address Book.
Did you check all Address Books, including Collected Addresses?
