Why slowness in downloading messages
I run Win7. Very frequently in TB's lower left corner, it shows that messages are downloading. Recently the download time has lengthened appreciably, even when the message does not contain attachments. Also moving from one message to the other takes considerable time. Since this started three days ago, I have uninstalled any programs added in that period. MalwareBytes' scan run daily has no malware. Also have uninstalled the anti-spam on my McAfee a/v.
Any other suggestions on why this might occur?
Chosen solution
Contacted McAfee and they changed settings to solve problem. Only change that I could see was in Real Time Scanning, under settings, the "Scan these files" was changed from the recommended All Files to Programs and documents only. When he turned on the protection, he chose the default settings button.

Tried that and waited. Slowness reappeared. So that is not the cause.
Sorry for delay, but had something else to do. Here is the Troubleshooting information under safe mode with printer and font deleted:

Contact McAfee and have their chat people verify your settings. There was a recent disasterous release and each that has contacted their chat that I have seen here has had their settings modified by McAfee and their slowness has been cured. Unfortunately none of the people are aware of what McAfee are changing, so I can not pass that information on.
