In just the last 3 days, it takes at least 30 secs to delete a message after I highlight the message & hit "delete", whereas bfore it was immediate.

U having same problem as me? Do u use Macaffee as well? IF / when u find a solution, please let me know & I will do the same.

Try clicking the link christ1 provided for your solution. It is your McAfee causing the problem.

Please contact McAfee customer support, their chat people can apparently "make the necessary settings changes" to fix Thunderbird compatibility while your in a session with them.
