A list of unread emails, I double click one to read. Is there a shortcut to open the next email in the list ?
When I used Outlook and opened an email I could move to the next in the list by pressing Ctrl-< (or Ctrl->) which would close the window of the letter being read and open the next letter in a new window. Can T-bird do this somehow?

Explore the menu system. You never know what you might learn
Alt to make the Menu Bar appear. Go-Next or Go-Previous to see the command and shortcuts.
Thanks Christ1 - so easy!! How could I have found this out without asking? Never mind, I am just pleased that now I can move through my mail.

How would you find it without asking? You explore the menu system. Most commands and shortcuts are listed there.
The standard keyboard navigation keys for moving from message to message (N, P, B, F, [, ]) DO NOT WORK for me. I'm in 31.0 in windows XP Sp3. I would appreciate hints for troubleshooting this problem.
