"Options" is not listed under "Tools" in the activity manger for changing font size of incoming messages. Where is it?

I am trying to change the font size for incoming messages. Thunderbird "Help" says to click on Tools/Options/Display/Formatting-Advanced. When I click on "Tools" or use "Alt+T", "Options" is not listed. Where should I go to get "options"? I am running Windows 8.1 if that makes a difference.

Alt T should get you there. Options is under Tools on the Menu Bar. Pressing alt makes the menu bar appear if not already showing.

If you use the AppMenu button (square with 3 lines) click the AppMenu button, hover over Options, then select Options.
