Emails are displaying imbedded code instead of the message. How is this corrected?
Like this:
<table cellspacing=3D"0" cellpadding=3D"0" border=3D"0"> <tr><td style=3D"line-height: 2px; mso-line-height-rule: exactly;"><img s= rc=3D"http://images.bfi0.com/creative/2014/barclaycard/02/3834/img/spacer= =2Egif" width=3D"1" height=3D"2" alt=3D"" border=3D"0" style=3D"display: = block;"></td></tr> </table>

Chosen solution
Right click the folder, select properties then the repair button. That will rebuild the index of the folder, either fixing things or remove historic entries that point to corrupt content.
Your half right... usually anti virus program, not virus

Try AppMenu button - View - Messages - Message Body As - Original HTML
Tried that did nothing. A couple of the emails the content disappeared. Virus?

That took care of the problem. Thank you. Any idea why that happened?
Only a guess Bob, anti virus programs try and scan mail on arrival, and again as soon as the mail is appended to the store file (it changed) Thunderbird is indexing the store and updating it's list database at the same time and they get all tangled up. You could try excluding your Thunderbird profile folders from your anti virus programs on access scanning and see if that helps if the issue is recurrent.
