It always crashes on Facebook if I'm there very long. The longer I have Firefox open the greater risk of crashing and I have to shut it down with Task Manager.

Chosen solution

I have chosen to go public with my solution as i have had a few users benefit from my methods. Notice i said methods, as there are two completely different solutions to all the canned responses that everyone keeps slinging out.

All you have to do is click my name on the left and there will be a blog link in which i laid it all out for everyone.

Best Regards

Sonoko/Carm:

Could you post details describing the solution so that others can benefit?

more options

The solution involves creating a task to delete certain prefetch files. That person successfully used my script ( you know the script that all the moderators refused to assist me in testing ). That script fully automated the task import process 100% successfully. As it has been six days without crashing and the person not messaging me, I will take this as a success in this persons case.

ONCE AGAIN this will not work for everyone's case.

I also found a case where another person's experience stated the script didn't work, and provided a radical alternate method involving a major configuration change in Firefox, and that person has been crash free for 4 days now according to the message i just received an hour ago.

IF ANY and user needs my assistance with the script or my other method you can Private message me, since I am getting slammed for posting my script info

Sonoko,

What was it that you actually tried that seemed to improve matters ?

(HelpDesk staff may be interested in trying to reproduce the problem and test your solution)

It was the script Carm made available to me.

Thanks for the reply.

I am glad the solution worked for you

Carm does not seem too interested in trying to test out these solutions in public. We know thousands of Firefox users have problems with FlashPlayer each week so potentially solutions could benefit many others..

Personally; if Carm's solution works; I would like to know in what situations it does work, and so when it is worth recommending this.

The forum can not blindly recommend that plus other suggestions from Carm to everyone with problems with Flash Player or Netflix etc etc. It is not only pointless recommending something that helps 1 in a thousand, but may harms or does not benefit the 999; that action would be totally irresponsible.

If I were to draw this thread to the attention of the professional HelpDesk staff would you be willing to do some tests that would involve trying Firefox with and without the prefetch solution in place ?

(This thread is already tagged as escalate)

@John99

This solution was already posted in the forum unfortunately You didn't bother reading the entire post from the forum, which is somewhat typical of forum moderators to read and comprehend information

In addition to that i did offer to do this publicly, however, you and several other moderators seemed to cry a river and refused to support my scripts/etc because you cant comprehend technical information and the ability to read through things as it is obvious in this post as the answer was in front of your face; you asked anyways do to failure to read.

Just trying to confirm what advice was followed.

Your website offers more than one potential solution for multiple problems. One solution is already suggested by Adobe themselves.

With the other solutions it is difficult to see who they have helped and in what circumstances.
