How do I re-map home/end from back/forward on FF Mac?

The home and end keys seem to be mapped to the back and forward navigations on Firefox for Mac. When I am in the middle of filling out a form or writing a post and try to navigate to the beginning/end of a line, it is EXCRUCIATING when my browser navigates away and I lose my current work.

I am a die hard Mozilla user and would never consider moving to another browser over a petty feature disparity, but this seemingly innocuous issue is driving me crazy and preventing me from doing my work.

I have tried the no longer supported Keyfixer add-on, but it didn't work. I also use KeyRemap4MacBook, which has a custom remapping for FF/TB to resolve this issue, but alas, it also doesn't work. Please help!!

The support article doesn't mention those actions for Home or End: Keyboard shortcuts - Perform common Firefox tasks quickly.

Could it be a feature of one of your extensions? You could try Firefox's Safe Mode to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.

You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using

Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset)

Any difference?

Speaking of extensions, something like Lazarus Form Recovery might provide some short term relief (I don't use it myself): https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/lazarus-form-recovery/

Thanks for the rapid response! It turned out that my key remapper was turning home/end into Cmd-Left and Right. I thought it was local to Firefox because other browsers (which use similar nav shortcuts) suppressed this navigation while editing in an input field.

The confusing part was the number of google hits (old & new) related to this problem. None of them fingered key remapping as the issue. So hopefully this post will rank highly and provide others a valuable solution.

Also, I installed Lazarus for another line of protection. Looks like a good add-on. Thanks again!
