Internet Explorer is deliberately stopping the Firefox download
Every time I try to download Firefox from within Explorer the download is aborted because Explorer stops it with a message it is doing so for security. This seems to me to be a very cheap shot at me and you. What can I do about it? You should sue them.

Chosen solution
Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

Hi Hugheen, are you sure you are downloading from Mozilla's site?
You could try this page: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/
In some cases, malware infections may prevent you from installing non-Microsoft browsers. This article has a list of free tools if you want to supplement your regular security scans: Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware.
Hopefully you get get to Firefox!

I thought IE was the optimal browser for downloading Chrome and or Firefox, run the full installer when downloading, since the stub installer always has problems (for me).
