I have a lot of bookmarks, and I want to search them, similar to a file search on my computer; how can I do that? Please say it can be done.
I need to be able to search my Firefox bookmarks. For example, I know I have a bookmark with wot in the name of it, but for the very life of me I cannot find it amongst all the bookmarks I have. There must be around a thousand (not exaggerating). I have no idea at all where I have saved it, and I know it's there, but I cannot find it.
So how do I search my bookmarks similar to like I would search my computer for files?
If FF doesn't have this capability, could you PRETTY PLEASE consider adding this functionality?
Chosen solution
Firefox does allow bookmark searching. From the 'Bookmarks' menu select 'Show all Bookmarks' (Ctrl + Shift + B). A new window will open showing the Bookmarks library. At the top right corner is a search box.
Also, by default, when you start typing an address into the location/address bar at the top, Firefox suggests links from history & bookmarks. So you should be able to find it just there too. Click here to know more.

Modified
Hi mmkjc23,
Follow this to open the bookmarks manager (it has a search box in the top right). Use bookmark folders to organize your bookmarks
Alternative try Ctrl + B (or Cmd + B I think on a Mac) to open the bookmarks sidebar which also has a search box.
Hope that helps,
Jack
Perfect. Now I just need to get my eyes checked. ;) Thanks!
You can also do this in the bookmarks sidebar.
- Toggle the Bookmarks sidebar on/off via "View > Sidebar > Bookmarks" or Ctrl+B (Command+B on Mac)
- Toggle the History sidebar on/off via "View > Sidebar > History" or Ctrl+H (Command+H on Mac)
