Firefox will not save any attachments - Safari, however, will save. Firefox will not open the window that allows the choice of the Save folder.

Reload the webpage while bypassing the cache using one of the following steps:

  • Hold down the Shift key and click the Reload button with a left click.

OR

  • Press Ctrl + F5 or Ctrl + Shift + R (Windows and Linux)
  • Press Command + Shift + R (Mac)

My problem was solved. I have been accessing my email through a bookmark. This bookmark apparently got corrupted. A new bookmark plus your instructions solved by problems. Firefox beats Safari when it comes to attachments. I'm able to file them where I want. Safari just puts them in the Download folder or some other location and then I have to go find them and move them around.
