Tired of JAVA problems and crashing...wont even support SE6. Mozilla customer service advice to reload was no help. Mozilla used to be simpler.

I have asked this before. I was told to reload Foxfire...I did that. I also uninstalled JAVA 7 and installed SE 6; then I check my Mozilla options and see that Java 7 is still a plugin albeit inactive, but still there just the same. I proposed before that it could be POGO.com issue, but that was not addressed in the response. I am not that computer savvy, but can follow instructions. The reason I believe it is a Java or Pogo.com site issue is that the internet nor any other site ever crashes only Pogo.com. I would very much like to begin my problem solving here because Mozilla is easier to deal with and far more helpful. EA (Pogo) games is impossible.

I removed Java from my system about a year ago due to the many continuing, often very serious, security issues with Java and their long list of unpatched security issues that they seem to have no interest in patching. I do not play online games and have found that not having it on my system causes me no problems with any of the many sites that I visit regularly.

You may have missed the important part about Windows 8 and Java pointed out in the 2nd paragraph (and link) in my response above.

Java 6SE is no longer supported or updated by Oracle/Java and you should not use it for security reasons - see: https://www.java.com/en/download/faq/java_6.xml

Following is Pogo <dot> com information on Java issues. Since you are using Windows 8, look at item number 11 first.

Man I guess I must not explain myself very well...I know SE6 is no longer supported. Java tells me so. However, Mozilla doesn't like 7. So, OK, I will let some bug eat my laptop because I manually activated SE7...not the Toolkit. We will see what happens. Thanks bunches Old Fox. Really appreciate the response...(still thinks it's POGO..LOL!)

Make sure to have the 32 bit Java version installed.

You can also check the Java plugin on the Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Plugins page.
